Illinois Concussion Law
On July 28, 2011, Illinois Gov. Patrick Quinn signed a measure that states student athletes with concussions must get medical approval before resuming play.  The law also requires education for coaches, parents, referees and players about concussion symptoms.  Studies show that repeat concussions and returning to play too soon raises risks for permanent brain damage.  The IHSA requires every school to have a signed concussion form on file for each student-athlete.  Community High School District 218 will comply with this mandate.  A concussion sheet identifying symptoms of concussion is available online.  Scroll down to Bulldog Documents to download this form.  Any questions regarding this law, please contact our athletic trainer, Sara Barr, at 708.424.2550, Ext. 5735, after 2:30 p.m.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION UNIFORMS

District 218 will require all students to wear a school uniform for physical education, effective with the 2011-12 school year.  Students may wear uniforms they have from previous school years, otherwise uniforms may be purchased at the bookstore during regular registration dates.  Uniforms may purchased in the bookstore, every morning from 7:35 a.m., to 7:55 a.m., once school begins.  Prices are as follows:

- Shirt & Shorts:  Sizes S-XL = $20.00; Sizes 2XL & 3 XL = $22.00

- Shirts only:  Sizes S-XL = $9.00;  Sizes 2XL & 3XL = $10.00

- Shorts only:  Sizes S-XL = $11.00;  Sizes 2XL & 3XL = $12.00
